The KBS WORLD Radio is holding the 8th Korean Speech Contest for foreigners around the world.

Thank you for your paprticipation in overseas Korean language learners.

1. Contest Title: The 8th Korean Language Speech Contest <Let's go to Korea in K-Pop!>

2. Preliminary Round Date: 6. 28 (Wed). 23 ~ 7. 26 (Wed). 23
                                    ※ One week extension is possible depending on the application situation.

3. Competition Overview:

A. Preliminary - Submit a speech video production of less than 1 minute on 'A travel destination in Korea that I would like to visit with my friends or lovers at least once and why I want to go there.'

B. Finals - Group interview through video access for broadcasting (hosted by a KBS announcer)

4. Qualifications: Foreigners residing abroad (excluding Korean nationals and Koreans)

5. How to participate in the preliminaries: Make a video in which the content of the given topic is spoken in Korean

6. Prize Details: 1st place for 1 person (4 million KRW, about 3,000.00 USD)

                     2nd place for 1 person (1.5 million KRW)

                     3rd place for 1 person (1 million KRW)

                     Excellence Awards for 3 people (souvenirs worth of 200,000 KRW)

                     First-come, first-served prize for 1 person, Popularity prize for 1 person (souvenirs worth of 100,000 KRW)
