퀴즈 온 코리아 미국 예선전
대한민국 외교부와 공영방송사 KBS가 주최하는 ‘퀴즈온 코리아’에 출전할 미국 대표를 선발하는 미국 예선전이 휴스턴에서 주휴스턴총영사관 주최로 개최될 예정입니다.
‘퀴즈 온 코리아’는 2012년부터 매년 추석마다 개최되는 글로벌 한류 퀴즈 프로그램으로 외국인들의 한국에 대한 관심을 높이고, 한국의 국제적 이미지를 증진하기 위해 기획되었습니다. 퀴즈 온 코리아 본선은 해외 지역별 예선전을 거쳐 선별된 국가별 우승자들이 최종 우승을 높고 한국에서 대결을 펼치는 방식으로 진행됩니다.
예선에서 선발된 1등에게는 본선 진출권과 함께 한국 여행의 기회가 제공되며, 그 외에도 소정의 상품이 준비되어 있으니 현지 친구, 지인분들께 적극 홍보해 주시기를 당부드립니다.
Quiz on Korea - U.S. Preliminary Round
Quiz on Korea is an annual South Korean television game show organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and KBS television, the national public broadcaster of Korea. The quiz tests participants’ general knowledge of Korea. Each year, preliminary rounds for the show are held in over 20 countries, and the national winner will participate in the final round of Quiz on Korea in Korea, representing their country.
This year, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Houston and Houston Korean Education Center are very pleased to host the U.S. preliminary round in Houston!
Date and Time: April 21, 2018 (Saturday), 13:00-16:00

> 14:00-16:00 Quiz on Korea Preliminary Round
Place: Sewall Hall (Classroom 301), Rice University, Houston TX
Eligibility: Any U.S. citizens who have interest in Korea
> Please bring your photo ID on the event date (U.S. passport, Military ID, Driver’s license, Student ID, etc.)
Format
> 1stRound: Multiple-choice round (5 highest-earning contestants go to the 2ndround)
> 2ndRound: Answer & explain in Korean
The winner of the U.S. preliminary round will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Korea to participate in the final round, representing the U.S. The final round of Quiz on Korea will be filmed at the KBS studios in Seoul, and broadcast on KBS as a special program for the Chuseok holidays in September. KBS World will also air the show for some 200 million people in 88 countries around the world to watch.
